The Informer turned 5 today! I spent all day, literally, working on her cake. It’s not perfect but I’m happy with it. I wish I would have realized that the flowers I was going to put on needed to sit for at least 24 hours but Paul picked up this flower at Roberts and it was the perfect color so I went with it.

I was also running late so I didn’t have time to set up my light box and I’m grumpier about that than I am the mistakes on the cake LOL.

Happy Birthday!

I took a series of progress pictures, but I am not putting them up tonight so check out my Flickr for the series (clicking on the photo will take you there)

I did have a crazy evening though, so apparently I was wrong.

The Informer’s first day of Kindergarten was yesterday. She started out very willing to pose for a picture.

I'm on my way

Then she was off on her own, fairly confident I was still there with the camera I’m sure.

Off we go, Dora and I

Enough of the pictures, we’re here. You’re done with the camera right Mom?

Are you through following me with the camera?

Apparently not.

I guess not

The older kids walk down to her classroom to pick her up then over to the East side of the playground so I can pick them up without having to deal with the pick up line. They came around the corner of the school today with The Informer in the middle, all 3 of them holding hands.

There are lots of things I didn’t do, I didn’t go skydiving, I didn’t get my pictures into the county fair, I didn’t go for a walk, I didn’t fold laundry, I didn’t have a bad day at work (yes, it’s a double negative I don’t care), and

I didn’t go back to school today!! The nursing program started up today, and I’m sure She-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named sighed some relief that I wasn’t there. I haven’t yet figured out why I struggle with her not liking me so much, it’s not that I like or respect her. Perhaps it is that I think I am fair with her, and as much as I don’t want to I also point out the positive changes she has made and all I ever get is the cold shoulder that comes from being on “the list”

Ah well, it’s nice to know that it doesn’t matter anymore. I’m off to bigger and better things; speaking of which I had an awesome day at work today right up until shift change. I can focus on the better part of the day 🙂

Back to school that is. Good and bad here we go, The Investigator’s last year at elementary, and The Informers first. Kindergarten doesn’t start until the 26th so I’ve gotten a slight reprieve for her.

Back to School
